Approach to Care

Angelica approaches podiatry as a problem-solving process. Each patient presents differently, and each condition requires a considered, individual approach.

As she describes it:

“Podiatry is like a jigsaw puzzle – sometimes it’s a simple 100-piece puzzle, sometimes it’s 500, and sometimes it’s a 1000-piece challenge.”

The goal is always the same – to understand the problem fully, explain it clearly, and guide patients through recovery with practical, achievable steps.

Services

Angelica provides a comprehensive range of podiatric care, tailored to each patient’s needs. Some of the more commonly requested services include:

  • Ingrown toenail surgery
  • Custom orthotics and insoles
  • Diabetic foot assessment and management
  • Sports injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation

From simple footwear advice to more complex conditions, care is focused on helping patients understand what is happening and how to recover effectively.

Background & Experience

Angelica began practising podiatry in 2016, following a career in nursing that spans over two decades.

She holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Podiatric Medicine from QUT and is an accredited podiatrist. Her earlier career as a Registered Nurse included work across neurosurgical and vascular specialties at major Brisbane hospitals.

This combined experience informs a holistic approach to care, with a strong focus on patient understanding, safety, and long-term outcomes.

Professional Involvement

Angelica has contributed to education in both podiatry and nursing, including sessional teaching roles and guest speaking for university students in allied health disciplines.

She remains committed to ongoing learning and maintaining a current, evidence-informed approach to podiatric care.

Special Interests

A particular area of interest is sports-related foot injury, including the impact of footwear and biomechanics on performance and injury risk.

This includes practical adjustments to footwear and movement patterns to improve efficiency, reduce strain, and support recovery.

“Podiatry complements my background as a Registered Nurse and allows the nurturing aspect of care to come through. Each patient is treated as an individual, with a focus on improving foot health, mobility, and overall function.”
